This unique dual-connection feature makes the Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball a good choice for those with a limited number of USB ports or who wish to use the trackball on multiple systems, employing Bluetooth on one and using the RF Receiver on a second or non-Bluetooth compatible system. Longtime or novice trackball users now have the freedom of wireless available in a full-size trackball with the additional option of selecting whether to connect via Bluetooth 4.0 LE or traditional 2.4 GHZ wireless using a USB nano receiver. Kensington has taken their venerable Expert Mouse Optical to a new level with the new Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball. The PC-Trac is now available from PI Engineering as the X-Keys O-Trac There is also a 5-button model which offers 2 input jacks for the connection of optional external switches.

PC-Trac basic models offer both "middle click" and "drag lock" functions (see the Features for more details.) On the Pro models this button only supports "middle click" but there is downloadable software available which enables users to customize their trackball features. (See the Features section on the Detailed Specifications Page for a deeper explanation of this feature.) This feature ensures fine control as well as offering accurate rapid movement when required. The PC-Trac also offers "dynamic acceleration" which increases distance covered proportional to the speed of rotation. This provides far more tactile feedback than that normally offered trackballs, while still offering smooth response to even a light touch.
Unlike most trackballs on the market, the high density phenolic trackball in the PC-Trac has significant inertia. The PC-Trac from Clearly Superior Technologies is a robustly built trackball line offering options and features not readily available in other trackballs.The low profile of the PC-Trac acts as a natural hand rest mirroring the natural contour of your hand and is designed to easily accommodate both right and left-hand users, as well as different size hands. However, if a user has a small hand they may wish to consider the Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring which features a smaller 40 mm trackball and is better suited for smaller hands. The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball will fit most hands. Users who prefer a wireless device may wish to consider the Expert Mouse Wireless and Bluetooth Trackball which offers all of the same functionality as the Expert Mouse Optical but with the addition of both Bluetooth and standard 2.4 Ghz wireless freedom.
Custom and program-specific commands and macros can be programmed for easy completion without the hand leaving the trackball. The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball also features a ScrollRing around the base of the ball, giving users easy access to quick scrolling whenever necessary.īasic mouse click functions are plug-and-play but users also have the option of installing the TrackballWorks software for total customization of the 4 large buttons surrounding the ball.
